Emilia Clarke Makes MCU Debut In Secret Invasion, But Actress Has Trouble Understanding How Marvel Studios Can Do Each Project So Well

Emilia Clarke will soon make his MCU debut in the Disney+ series Secret Invasionand the actress called Marvel Studios’ work “astounding“. Having worked at game of Thrones for a decade and appearing in a number of big budget films such as Terminator Genisysone might think that Clarke is used to massive productions. However, the actress believes that Marvel does something beyond any other production, especially in terms of storytelling.

Secret Invasion will see the Nick Fury of Samuel L. Jackson takes center stage, as he tries to save Earth from a full-scale invasion by an alien race, the Skrulls. However, he won’t fight alone since Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle will appear as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Martin Freeman will return as Everett Ross e Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his Skrull role. Additionally, there are expected to be more cameo appearances, and Emilia Clarke has been confirmed to play the character Abigail Brand, though her purpose on the show has yet to be revealed.

Nick Fury has been an integral part of the MCU since he first appeared in the post-credits scene of Iron ManAnd Secret Invasion will finally give the character his first starring vehicle within the franchise. Although he has made notable appearances in Iron Man 2, The Avengers And Captain Marvellittle has been revealed about his life outside of his role within S.H.I.E.L.D

Talking about how Secret Invasion will show a different Nick Fury, Jackson said: “Well, I have a life like Nick Fury which isn’t about work. I’ll do things that aren’t normally shown, because that’s not the purpose of my character. That’s exactly what movies are for, they show that even superheroes have their moments.” Secret Invasion doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it should arrive in March 2023.
