Emily VanCamp is back in “The Resident”: here are the photos to prove it!

There are many television deaths that remain with the fans. We all remember George O’Malley (TR Knight) in Grey’s Anatomy, Joyce Summers (Kristine Sutherland) in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and who could forget Ben Sullivan (Brendan Fraser) in Scrubs? We still think about it and not just because people rediscovered Brendan Fraser during his Brenaissance.

Now we can add Nic Nevin’s (Emily VanCamp) devastating ending in The Resident to this heartbreaking list. But wait – we see a light at the end of that tunnel and it’s not the kind of light you might see when you die. Will Emily VanCamp return to the Resident? Here’s what we know.

Will Emily VanCamp return to “The Resident”?

Technically Emily will reprise the role of the great Nic Nevin for the season five finale, which airs May 17 on FOX. Co-showrunner Peter Elkoff told TVLine that she will appear in “four, maybe five” flashback scenes during the finale. Nic’s reappearance will be used to help Conrad (Matt Czuchry) move forward in his personal life. It looks like Nic is showing up to give Conrad some sort of comfort so that he can find love again, and we have some photos for you!

Peter Elkoff went on to say that “he [Conrad] he hasn’t been able to make a move and find his next love. He knows he’s still stuck in the past, in a way, with Nic. “

Conrad is convinced that, for whatever reason, the night Gigi was born will give him some clarity and “he’ll get an answer, an awareness that frees him in a certain way,” Peter said to the vent. It looks like we’ll go back to Gigi’s birth so Conrad can find what he’s looking for.

The art was mimicking life for Emily VanCamp, whose pregnancy was pretty much in line with Nic’s on the show. For her, it was kind of a lucky chance because, as she told Deadline, “It allowed us to keep the pregnancy quiet and have something that’s ours for a while. It was nice in itself – to finally have some privacy. ”

Emily’s decision to leave was born out of a desire to put her family first, and to be able to spend more time with them. Of course, leaving a show after four successful years wasn’t an easy decision.

“It’s such a bittersweet time for me,” Emily revealed. “You often hear of someone coming out of a show because something bad happened or there was bad blood. But in this case it is the exact opposite ”.

Obviously, The Resident fans were both shocked and disappointed, but one person who had been there for Emily since she decided to leave the show was her friend and co-star, Matt Czuchry. While speaking to Deadline too, she said, “Looking back, I hope the audience feels like we’ve given them everything they could possibly want.”

It looks like Conrad and Nic will be there for each other at least one more time. We can’t wait to see this reunion, even if it’s not quite real. Long live Conica!
