What better way to celebrate summer than by going bleach blonde? Just ask Emma Stone. To accompany her recent platinum dye job, the Oscar-winning actor also turned to hairstylist Mara Roszak for an asymmetrical bob, with a sense of fullness helped by some artfully incorporated extensions.
To achieve the cut’s soft texture, Roszak relied on a point-cut technique for a better blend, along with razored sections. “When asking for a chin-length bob, know that the cut should be a tiny touch longer in the forehead for subtle dimension,” says Roszakwho used products from her own product line, RŌZto finesse stone‘s natural wave without excessive heat. “Emma just went bleach blonde, so this was the perfect time for a cut to give her a healthy refresh,” says Roszak. “She’s always open to seeing herself in different ways, and truly trusts the process.”
The addition of extra volume came courtesy of Priscilla Valleswho added three rows of 15 individual extensions to stone‘s fresh chop. “Individuals are the most luxurious extension because they move and flow like natural hair,” says Valleys, which adds that the option is also the least damaging to the scalp. “It’s like building a wig on the head as opposed to a heavy weft or clip-in. They’re extremely lightweight.”
Whether the end-of-season transition period finds you leaning towards a shorter style or letting your hair swing well past the shoulders, it’s a reminder that individual extensions—and the added oomph they bring—are the secret to luxurious lengths.
