Emmy Awards 2022 tv series awards nominations

Nominations announced Emmys 2022 by Melissa FumeroBrooklyn Nine-Nine) and JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm). It was not easy for the members of the Academy given that, as stated by the president of the academy, there was a record of productions and a record of programs sent by the various networks to be candidates. And in the end the jurors chose a mix of tradition and novelty, trying to focus on well-known and popular titles such as Squid Game or Stranger Things, joined by some new acclaimed TV series like Only Murders in the Building, Abbott Elementary and Severance – Split.

HBO Succession guide with 25 nominations, followed by Ted Lasso of Apple Tv+ and The White Lotus of HBO with 20. Still behind at 17 we find Only Murders in the Building and at 16 Euphoria (of course these numbers include all the categories that you can’t find listed below where we have included only the main ones, on the Emmy site all the nominations).

Getting the second nomination for Euphoria, Zendaya becomes the youngest actress to get two nominations. Of course, the nominations for Squid Game first non-English-language TV series to be nominated for Best Drama and for Best Actor. Among the excluded are the last season of This is Us, Yellowstonethe surprise Reservation Dogs, Selena Gomez for Only Murders in the Buildings. Also surprising is the absence of Sean Penn and Julia Roberts for Gaslit just as there is not a single Latino actor or actress among the nominees.
