Bandai Namco announced the financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023, which is the period from April 1 to June 30, 2022. The Japanese publisher has recorded revenues and profits in net growth on an annual basis, mainly thanks to Elden Ring.

According to data shared with shareholders, we learn that Q1 revenues amounted to 216.24 billion yen, about 1.63 billion dollars, an increase of 21.5% compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Profits instead amounted to 44.3 billion yen, or 333.181 million dollars, with an increase of 64.3% on an annual basis.


In general, all sectors of the company recorded positive results. In particular the segment Digital Business, which is what video games are concerned with, saw revenues increase by 34.1% and profits by 148.7% on an annual basis. All this considering that Bandai Namco did not release a big-caliber game in the last quarter, so these results were achieved thanks to the long wave of sales of Elden Ring, which we still often find in the top positions of the sales charts. retail and digital.

The Japanese publisher also raised its estimates for the first half of the fiscal year, raising the forecast for revenues from 400 to 430 billion yen and 46 to 72 billion yen for profits.

Recently Bandai Namco announced the line-up of games it will lead to Gamescom 2022, which also includes One Piece Odyssey and The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me among others.
