After the excellent “The Undoing” or “Big Little Lie”, Nicole Kidman is once again the star of a series. “Expats“, directed by Lulu Wang is based on the international bestseller The Expatriates by Janice YK Lee. Prime Video has just revealed the first images.

In Expatsbig names in the film industry shine, including actress Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies, The Undoing), Academy Award and Emmy winner Sarayu Blue (Never Have I Ever, Blockers), Ji-young Yoo (The Sky Is Everywhere, Smoking Tigers), Brian Tee (Chicago Med, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) and Jack Huston (House of Gucci, Fargo). Nicole Kidman and Lulu Wang are also attached to the series as executive producers. The penultimate episode has a length similar to that of a feature film. This episode will have its European premiere at the BFI London International Film Festival on October 9.

Expats, set in Hong Kong in 2014, centers on the lives of three American women: Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue) and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo). Following a sudden family tragedy, they meet and their lives become inextricably linked. The series challenges privilege and explores what happens when the line between victim and perpetrator blurs. In addition to the three main actors, the series also stars Brian Tee, who plays Margaret’s husband Clarke, and Jack Huston, who plays Hilary’s husband David.
