Several new information from Koei Tecmo on Fairy Tail, which presents itself as a sort of JRPG with turn-based fights and almost random encounters.
Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer on Fairy Tail for the TGS 2019, also revealing several new details about the game, a video game adaptation of the popular anime series of the same name.
During the Fairy Tale Special Stage organized at TGS 2019, the developers then explained some details about the game coming for PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Apparently, there are 10 playable characters, of which five have been announced: Wendy Marvell, Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, and Erza Scarlet.
The basis for the character is the Guild, which is located in Magnolia Town, reproduced quite faithfully in the game, with the guild growing as we advance inside Fairy Tail, receiving new requests for missions and expanding the market and the research laboratory.
Similar to the Atelier series, Fairy Tail also uses a sort of symbol system for encounters with enemies, which trigger turn-based combat in a rather classic JRPG style. A certain importance is entrusted to the formation of the party, with magical attributes to be used strategically.
The use of magic consumes the connected energy, but this can be recharged by defeating the enemies: in some cases, it is possible to launch more powerful attacks even in combination with more characters. Fairy Tail starts from the battle of Tenrou Island which is the prologue to the game, with the collapse of the guild and the subsequent reconstruction and the Grand Magic Games. In short, the story takes up that of the original series but there are also some additional unreleased episodes.
The development is currently at 50% of completion, more information will arrive in October and the launch of the game is scheduled for 2020 worldwide on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
