Five candidates for the Manchester United coach position. One favorite of Pika none

Manchester United announced on Sunday 21 November that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been dismissed from his position as first-team coach. Michael Carrick took his place temporarily, but the club said in a press release that it was looking for a temporary manager until the end of the season. So far, Mauricio Pochettino has seemed to be the favorite, but his premature separation from PSG seems unlikely. Previously, Manchester United was refused by Zinedine Zidane.

Media: Five candidates for the Manchester United coach role. The favorite of Ernesto Valverde

The British daily “The Mirror” reports that Manchester United are considering five candidates to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. We are talking about Ernesto Valverde, Ralfa Rangnick, Luciena Favra, Paulo Fonsece and Rudi Garcia. According to the newspaper, the main favorite is the former coach of Roma or Olympique Lyonnais. “He seems to be the obvious choice. He prefers an attractive style of play and also speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian. This would allow him to navigate smoothly through the multicultural locker room,” we read.

Sky Sports, in turn, believes that Ernesto Valverde is number one for the Red Devils authorities. The talks between the two sides are still at an early stage, but for now the problem seems to be the formula of the entire operation. Valverde wants to find out what Manchester United expects from him, while the club wants to retain the possibility of premature termination of cooperation when the dream candidate appears on the market.

The coach revealed in an interview with “The Observer” in June this year that he would be willing to start working in England. “I could work there, I wouldn’t mind such a scenario. You have the impression that they respect football there” – said Valverde. Michael Carrick led Manchester United in a 2-0 win over Villarreal in the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stage. The Red Devils are already playing some games in the knockout stage of the tournament.
