Zeller is fresh from the passage to Venice 79 in the competition of the drama “The Son”, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern and Vanessa Kirby, also presented in Toronto (it will go to theaters with 01). It will be the first project that Zeller will dedicate himself to after the launch of Blue Morning Pictures in collaboration with Mediawan and Federica Sainte-Rose, an established figure in the sector. “I am happy to work with Lorenzo Mieli and Domenico Procacci – he said – to bring this epic story to life. The Lehman Trilogy tells the exciting story of a family and power that stretches for decades in the ever-changing American political and social landscape. . I could not have imagined a richer picture to work on and I am grateful to everyone who made this possible. ” After an award-winning career as a playwright, Zeller adapted and directed his first feature film, “The Father – Nothing Is As It Seems”, based on his play Le Père (The Father), starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. The film received six 93rd Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, which resulted in Zeller winning Best Non-Original Screenplay, shared with Christopher Hampton, and Anthony Hopkins Academy Award for Best Actor. The series will be produced by Lorenzo Mieli (The Apartment Pictures), Domenico Procacci and Laura Paolucci (Fandango), who will join forces once again after the extraordinary international success of the series “The brilliant friend” based on the novels by Elena Ferrante. Federica Sainte-Rose and Lorenzo De Maio, of De Maio Entertainment, were instrumental in putting the partnership together and will be executive producers. Lorenzo Mieli, Producer and CEO of The Apartment, a Fremantle group company, said: “I am truly delighted to be working with Florian and look forward to seeing how brilliantly and unexpectedly he will reinvent the wonderful and award-winning play for the screen. Stefano Massini. I find it interesting and exciting that it will once again be a great European writer who will tell the life and death of an institution which, for over a century, has been the emblem of immense power but also of the shocking fragility of American dream”. Domenico Procacci, Producer and CEO of Fandango, said: “Stefano Massini wrote such a strongly original and wonderfully unique text. But it takes genius to handle such precious narrative material. It took Luca Ronconi’s and then Luca Ronconi’s. Sam Mendes to turn those pages into exceptional staging in the theater. And I am delighted that Florian Zeller has decided to dedicate his enormous talent to making those same pages become a series that now has every chance to be memorable. ” Andrea Scrosati, COO of Fremantle Group and CEO of Continental Europe, said: “Working with the incredible talent Florian Zeller is at the heart of Fremantle’s mission. As a group we are thrilled with this project and really look forward to seeing it come to life. “.
