Football. Damian Szymański the hero of AEK Athens in the Greek derby

The 26-year-old midfielder scored the titled rival in the second minute. As it turned out, it was a victory goal. He played until the 65th minute and saw a yellow card at the end of the first half.

Szymański is a former footballer, incl. GKS Bełchatów, Jagiellonia Białystok and Wisła Płock. From January 2019, he performed with Akhmat Grozny, and a year later he was loaned to AEK. In June 2020, the Greeks decided to buy it definitively.

He has played in the Polish national team so far seven matches and scored one goal – in added time in the World Cup qualifying match against England in Warsaw in September (1: 1).

AEK is second in the table with an achievement of 26 points.

Earlier on Sunday, Karol Świderski scored a goal for PAOK Thessaloniki, but his team suffered a third consecutive defeat in the Greek league. This time he lost against Ionikos 2: 3. This is the third league goal of the 24-year-old striker of the Polish national team in the season.
