The Canadian army has entered into an agreement with Fortnite Battle Royale and Epic Games, very special, in order to enhance Remembrance Day.
In this article, we talk about a very particular use of Fortnite Battle Royale, and above all in the cultural sphere. The Royal Canadian Legion has chosen Epic Games as a partner to celebrate the next Remembrance Day.
Remembrance Day is a day dedicated to the commemoration, in the United Kingdom and in several European countries, of the end of the First World War and more generally of various conflicts; it will take place on 11 November 2019 and in many states, it is a real national holiday. Now, the new partnership between the Royal Canadian Legion and Fortnite aims to make this event accessible also to school children, through the game they know so well.
Taking advantage of Fortnite’s Creative Mode, the Royal Canadian Legion has created an island where there is no fighting: instead, the player is guided step by step along a path of historical re-enactment, observing the main events that took place during the First World War and clearly the role played by Canada. The objective is clearly to reach the youngest, with cultural aims, but through the video game: a laudable initiative.
