Fourteenth retirement pension 2021. Fourteen have already received over 6 million retirees

The fourteenth pension has already been received by over 6 million old age and disability pensioners, including nearly 5 million in the full amount, i.e. PLN 1,250.88 gross. The total amount allocated to the payment of fourteen has so far amounted to nearly PLN 7 billion – informed Gertruda Uścińska, the president of the Social Insurance Institution.

– Another group of our clients received fourteenth pensions. These additional benefits are paid from the end of October and are delivered to retirees and disability pensioners in a timely manner – says the president of ZUS, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska.

The “Fourteen” is awarded ex officio, no application needs to be completed.

– The additional benefit goes to the beneficiaries along with the November retirement pension. More than 9 million people will receive them, including almost 8 million in full amount. This is a significant support for home budgets – added Uścińska.

Who is entitled to the fourteenth pension?

The so-called fourteen in 2021 is PLN 1,250.88 gross. It is granted to people who, on October 31, 2021, were entitled to one of the long-term benefits listed in the Act, including old-age and disability pensions, social pensions, pre-retirement benefits. Fourteen people will not be granted to persons whose entitlement to benefits is suspended.

The full amount, i.e. PLN 1,250.88 gross, will be provided to persons whose basic benefit does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. The rest will receive the fourteen reduced in line with the “PLN for PLN” rule. For example, if the retirement pension is PLN 3,000, then the fourteen will be entitled to a PLN 100 lower pension.

The fourteenth pension is taxable and contributory under general rules, irrespective of whether it is paid in conjunction with a taxable or tax-exempt benefit. No deductions and executions are made from the amount of the next additional annual cash benefit.

Clients of the Social Insurance Institution more and more often decide to collect their benefits into a bank account. Already more than three-quarters of them have and use a bank account – said ZUS spokesman Paweł Żebrowski.
