France and Morocco will face each other on Tuesday, July 8 at 8am Brasilia time at Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide, Australia. The duel took place in the Round of 16 of the Women’s World Cup. The winner will face host nation Australia, who defeated Denmark on Monday. And besides the historical conflict (Morocco was a French colony), there are still further curiosities. The two teams met in the semi-finals of the Men’s Cup in December (France won and advanced to the final against Argentina).
The French team is the favorite in this match. The favourites, who finished Group F in first place (and ultimately eliminated by Brazil), want to give everyone their hopes. Morocco, meanwhile, is rolling out a campaign to overcome. He made his debut in a 6-0 loss to Germany, but then won two more games, 1-0 against South Korea and Colombia, both 1-0. In this way, they finished second in Group H behind Colombia and ahead of the eliminated Germany.

Hervé Renard rested many of his starting line-ups in the final game of the group stage against Panama. The team still won 6-3. But now, all the beasts have returned for the decisive battle with Morocco. Renard will therefore lead the defense and Le Sommer will lead the attack. But there are concerns as four players, Toretti, Carchaoui, Mateo and Kenza Dal, are hanging. That way, if the yellow comes out and France advances, they will be eliminated from the quarter-finals.
