It’s almost a revolution: on September 7, the French brand La Cornue, which has been manufacturing cookers with a vintage look since 1908, included in its catalog the “Castel 60”, an entirely electric cooker measuring 60 cm wide. . That’s a very banal product… if it wasn’t designed by one of the most jet-set household appliance manufacturers in the world and didn’t have a starting price of some 16,485 euros (excl. VAT).
“It’s a test for the brand. Before, we started from the idea that the client was going to completely redo their kitchen around the piano, and that size didn’t matter. There, we aim for replacement and we choose all-electric to target large buildings where there is no gas, but also small apartments in Paris, Berlin… and soon New York.” explains Erick Pelamourgues, director of operations at La Cornue.
