From 1 October following the regional measure, the Euro 4 block and in the next few days, along the lines of the measures of previous years, the mayor of Verona Damiano Tommasi will sign the ordinance where prohibitions and exceptions will be established in detail.
From this year regional exceptions end recognized to cope with the limitations related to Covid ed the blocking of Euro 4 diesel vehicles enters into force, as envisaged by the Padano Basin Agreement of 6 June 2017 between Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont.
The restrictions will be effective from 1 October to 16 December 2022 and from 7 January to 30 April 2023with i diesel vehicles up to Euro 4 stopped for the whole period.
“The block to the Euro 4 is a regional obligation – he explained the councilor for Mobility Tommaso Ferrari -. While we are very much in agreement on the reduction of private traffic, in the face of an extension of sustainable mobility and above all of local public transporton the other we ask the Region for greater guarantees on adequate contributions for this type of intervention“.

“Sufficient resources are needed because if they are done directives of this type without investment in local public transportwhich is the real backbone of sustainable mobility alongside cycle paths and micro mobility, it is clear that it will not be possible to reduce the traffic very much. There are regions like Lombardy that have almost doubled the national transport fund. In Veneto, on the other hand, they spread this fund in favor of the Municipalities and Provinces without variations »says Ferrari.
“It is therefore necessary to make a common front among all the provincial capitals of the Veneto to ask the Region for an increase in the resources available for local public transport. We need to renew our vehicles and, above all, to be more widespread, for socially inclusive sustainable mobility. The annual contribution has been unchanged for a very long time, so we need new funds because, if public transport is currently insufficient, it is often the poorer classes who pay the costs »concludes Ferrari.
