Despite the many changes at DC, the Batman franchise directed by Matt Reeves is safe from any cancellations.
During the night, The Hollywood Reporter published a new insight into the future of the DC universe, explaining that James Gunn and Peter Safran will present their plans to Warner Bros. Discovery president David Zaslav next week.
At the moment, only Gunn and Safran know about these plans, but despite this there are already some rumors and potential scenarios that are circulating behind the scenes.
Following the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3according to the site, one of the hypotheses is to close all ties with him SnyderVerseopting for a total reboot.
Luckily, Gunn and Safran’s plans don’t include the universe of The Batman developed by Matt Reeves: the director is still writing the sequel to the film and is supervising two spin-off series, including the one dedicated to Colin Farrell’s Penguin. In this case, the plans remain unchanged, as the projects are not part of the main James Gunn universe and therefore will not be canceled in any way.
While the series on Penguin will go into production in early 2023 (and may be released in 2024), the sequel to The Batman it may not arrive from the cinema before 2025.
