On July 29, Pedro was punched by Argentinian physical trainer Pablo Fernandez after winning the Brazilian Championship against Atlético M.G. in Belo Horizonte. Fernandez, who was part of Jorge Sampaoli’s coaching staff, was sacked from the club after the incident.
