“Girls only want rights”, sings P!nk in new single

She came back! After a few months without releasing anything, the singer P!nk released yesterday (14), on the main digital platforms, “irrelevant“, her newest single. Written by the artist alongside the American composer Ian Fitchuk, the track has a political and contesting content. “Girls just want rights, so why do we have to fight?“, she sings in a certain passage. “I am irrelevant because I exist and because I am a human being. Nobody is irrelevant and nobody can silence my voice“, said P!nk in an official note about the release of the single.

According to the singer, the inspiration for the track came in a moment of exhaustion, when she realized that women with strong arguments were called “irrelevant”. Hence the title of the song, and also the tone of the lyrics!

In fact, a large part of the income obtained from the music will be donated to the campaign “When We All Vote“, created by the non-partisan organization created by Michelle Obama, former first lady of the United States; whose objective is to make the population aware of the importance of voting for the reduction of social and economic inequalities in the USA. This is what we call engaged art, right?

P!nk is the most played female artist of the century in the UK

Brits love Pink! She is the most played female artist of the 21st century in the UKaccording to a new report published by PPL and based on airplay data from radio stations and television channels.

The singer, born in Philadelphia, leads the TOP 10 of the list that includes great names in music – mostly of American origin. In all, there are six North American artists: Madonna and Katy Perrywhich ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively, Lady Gaga (in 5th), Beyonce (7th) and Whitney Houston (10th).

Adele (nº 6) and little mix (nº 9) are the only local artists to appear in the ranking. Rihanna (nº 4) and Kylie Minogue (#8) also appear.
