I am irrelevant because I exist and because I am a human being. Nobody is irrelevant and nobody can silence my voice“, said P!nk in an official note about the release of the single.

According to the singer, the inspiration for the track came in a moment of exhaustion, when she realized that women with strong arguments were called “irrelevant”. Hence the title of the song, and also the tone of the lyrics!
