Golden Ball for Robert Lewandowski – a huge advantage in the Interia poll

We conducted the poll from Wednesday to Monday morning. Of the nearly 15,000 votes, around three-quarters were cast for “Left” (74 percent). The Bayern Munich striker and the captain of the Polish national team gained a huge advantage over other competitors.

Lionel Messi came in second. The Argentinian, playing for PSG, was even outclassed by Lewandowski, because he only gathered seven percent of the vote.

Karim Benzema came third. The French from Real Madrid received five percent of the vote.

Then another Frenchman Kylian Mbappe from PSG and the Italian representative Jorginho (Chelsea) were classified – three percent of the vote. Then Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo and Italians – Gianluigi Donnarumma and Giorgio Chiellini – two percent of the vote each. Finally, Brazilian Neymar and Italian Leonardo Bonucci – both with one percent of the vote each.

The “France Football” Golden Ball for 2021 will be awarded on Monday, November 29, during a gala at the Theater du Chatelet in Paris.

A year ago, the plebiscite was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2019, Messi won the award for the sixth time.
