Google Chrome: The web browser will receive a genuine password manager

Google Chrome: The web browser will receive a genuine password managerEach of us uses dozens, if not hundreds of services that we access by logging in using a password. Assuming that we use complex, unrelated strings of characters, remembering all passwords turns out to be impossible. Therefore, it is worth using managers that aggregate this information. We have at least several such solutions on the market and, importantly, some of them are available in a web browser, e.g. in Apple Safari and Google Chrome. These are not perfect tools, but their creators are working to make their use as convenient and effective as possible. This is evidenced by the news aimed at the password manager in the enterprise application from Mountain View.

The password manager in Google Chrome will get better. The creators will introduce a new function to the solution that will give users more control over the saved data.

When registering on websites, we can use the password proposed by the manager available in the browser. Of course, we can also enter our own string of characters. Regardless of the choice, the password will be saved in Google Chrome. Nothing prevents you from editing them and previewing them if necessary. The problem begins when a form in a given service cannot be properly recognized by the system. This situation has happened to me many times. It turns out that we cannot manually add login and password to the database. This is about to change.

In the new version of the Canary version of the Google Chrome web browser, we can activate a function that will most likely also go to the stable channel. I am talking about the option of manually adding logins and passwords. Just download the development version of the application, install it, and then select the appropriate “flag” from the settings menu. After the described procedure, the “add” button will appear in the browser. When can the solution be included in a stable distribution? You should be patient, because it will happen in February next year at the earliest.
