Kate Walsh will return as Addison in Grey’s Anatomy season 19, and will be a recurring presence.
Kate walsh’s Addison will reappear starting with the third episode of season 19.
She previously starred in Private Practice, the first spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy – which ran for six seasons on ABC, from 2007 to 2013.
She appeared in multiple episodes last season, returning to the Gray Sloan Memorial to perform a uterine transplant on a patient, who later miscarried. During her appearances in season 18, Addison mourned the death of her ex-husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey) with her sister Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and widow Meredith (Ellen Pompeo).
ABC also released a first clip from season 19, which you can see above. In the video, Meredith welcomes new hospital interns.
In the new season, Ellen Pompeo will have a limited presence. Fans will also have to contend with the likely absence of much-loved characters like Levi, Bailey, and Owen and Teddy who left with their children.
Grey’s Anatomy season 19 will hit US ABC screens on October 6.
