GTA 6 trailer gets The Elder Scrolls treatment in hysterical entertainment

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has shaken off the sand of vibrant Vice City and replaced it with some Vvardenfell ash. For those of you who aren’t huge nerds, that means someone recreated it in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

It feels like a lifetime ago that the GTA 6 trailer was unceremoniously leaked, forcing Rockstar to deliver the goods to us early. Of course, it feels like there’s still a lifetime between us and the game’s 2025 release.

Fans are so hungry for the next installment in the GTA series that the GTA 6 trailer attracted more views in two days than the GTA 5 trailer did in ten years. With nothing to do but wait, fans began recreating the GTA 6 trailer in other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Minecraft.

The next part of this creative project comes courtesy of Twitter user Mickey D They went to great lengths to capture the essence of the GTA 6 trailer using clips from The Elder Scrolls III. Florida is very similar to Morrowind’s nightmarish hellscape.

Micky D’s game is, of course, powered by Tom Petty’s hit “Love is a Long Road,” but it begins not on the beaches of Vice City, but on the shores of Morrowind.

The game’s dated graphics add to the hilarious tone as low-polygon NPCs move around the world. A brief scene in a strip club is especially hilarious.

Flamingos and reptiles are no longer alternatives to Rockstar’s Florida, but have been replaced by terrifying creatures that call Morrowind home. There are strange tentacles and a giant Netch, as well as some hidden bugs used in a fantastic recreation of the crocodile from the GTA 6 trailer in a convenience store.

In fact, Micky D went the extra mile and even added some TikTok-style overlays to really capture the vibe of the original trailer. Their username is even a cheeky nodal point to events in The Elder Scrolls III.

While the mushroom huts of Morrowind may not be as glamorous as the high-rise apartments of Vice City, Micky D did a pretty good job with what they had.

This game is definitely worth a look for fans of both series, and we’ve added the original GTA 6 trailer so that the seven people on the planet who haven’t seen the game can compare the two.
