Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will have a very different tone from the other films in the franchise

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 James Gunn

The director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 James Gunn explains what will change in the third Guardians film compared to what has been seen up to now. Gunn directed both previous installments of Guardians of the Galaxydelving into the cosmic side of the MCU and introducing many new faces to the franchise as early as 2014’s first film. The Guardians team, which includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula e Pom Klementieff as Mantis, they have become a staple of the MCU, appearing in films outside of their franchise, such as Avengers: Infinity War.

Due in large part to Gunn’s signature directing style, the films of the Guardians of the Galaxy sport a lighthearted and irreverent tone and are full of witty banter, pop culture references, emotional musical moments and lots of color. This trend is set to continue with Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special of Disney+, which was filmed in conjunction with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and is set before the events of that concluding film. However, viewers can expect a slight change in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, according to Gunn. During a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the director anticipates a more serious tone in the third episode, with a particularly exciting plot for the character of Chris Pratt.

“Vol. 3 has a lot of the fun and silly stuff that Guardians has, but it’s also incredibly emotional. It’s the end of the story for this group of Guardians, so there was a lot of excitement around that. He was very serious most of the time. The actors were all trying really hard, especially Chris Pratt. It was heavy.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will arrive in theaters in 2023, although an official release date has not yet been communicated. The shooting of the film should officially start by the end of 2021. They will return to the cast Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Will Poulter with Vin Diesel And Bradley Cooper who will still offer their voices. In the film is also expected Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Joining them are newcomers to the MCU Will Poulter And Chukwudi Iwujiwith Poulter confirmed to play the role of Adam Warlock.

In the Marvel Studios movie the beloved group of outcasts look a little different lately. Peter Quill, still racked by the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe, as well as protect one of their own. A mission that, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
