The brides suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic, but after so many rescheduling, it’s time to go down the aisle. With the dates approaching, the search for hair and makeup trends intensifies. And now, what’s in fashion? Many brides are choosing to wear their hair looser, leaving aside those very elaborate hairstyles that we saw in the past.
“Women are opting for a looser and cleaner look. Before, these hairstyles were chosen for those who were going to get married on the beach or in the countryside, but it is on the rise”, says hairdresser Caio Bastos, from the Casa Florah salon, in São Paulo. . The prisoners, according to him, come in a second moment, when the bride is going to enjoy the party. “They usually do a classic ponytail or bun,” he says.
As the classics never go out of style, Caio adds: there are still a lot of bun brides out there, yes. “He’s always a darling, but they don’t want a classic model anymore, but rather stripped down, with looser threads. He gets more relaxed”, he says. The choice of the bun model depends on the bride’s style.
“The most contemporary opts for a more structured and elegant bun, which can be in the center of the head. The most romantic and sweet ones, however, opt for a low bun”, says Caio. But it is necessary to match the hairstyle with the model of the dress.
Inspired by celebrities
Used to meeting the famous and always keeping an eye on international trends, hairdresser Marco Antonio de Biaggi, from the MG Hair salon, sees many brides arriving at his salon with famous photos of inspiration. “Kate Middleton has been married a long time, but she’s still one of the most requested haircuts,” he says. The Duchess of Cambridge opted, even 11 years ago, for a half-up hairstyle, the trend of the moment.
Another one that is not forgotten is Meghan Markle, who shows how royal weddings impact trends, even after so long. Megan wore a messy bun to her wedding. “The part in the middle of the hair is what gave the hairstyle a touch of modernity”, says Marco.
Within this half-down hair trend, the expert still lists some other celebrities worthy of inspiration. The most recent of her is Britney Spears. “The thread on the top of the head served to secure the veil”, says Marco.
Other celebrities who wore their hair half up were Marina Ruy Barbosa and Ariana Grande. “Both used a wide brushed curling iron with a line in the middle”, says Marco.
