Tom Felton recounted his experience in the Harry Potter saga in his new memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard. In the book Felton details the vicissitudes of the set and the lessons he learned thanks to Harry Potter. Without forgetting the fundamental contribution of Emma Watson.
The actor and Hermione’s interpreter – who admitted last year that she had a crush on Tom Felton on the set of the saga – in they have formed an indissoluble bond over the years and it seems that the actress has played a decisive role in the actor casting for the role of Draco.
“Chris Columbus was doing or trying this trick, where there’s like 20 kids together and he’s like, ‘Okay, kids, I’ll leave you guys for a second and let’s go talk here.’ And the producers and everybody would end up in one corner and the other guy was still holding the mic boom, which was over our heads and so I knew exactly what was going on. And this coiffed-haired little girl walked up to me and was like, ‘What’s that?’. looked at her very arrogantly and told her she was a mic, ‘idiot, what do you think she is?’ I’m pretty sure they heard it and that helped me get the role of Draco Malfoy. It also turns out that I see that girl two months later and her name is Emma Watson, so we didn’t get off to the best start” it reads in the book.
Obviously the relationship between the two has definitely improved over time; Tom Felton recently admitted his feelings for Emma Watson, declaring that he believes in her “more than a sister”.
