Hideo Kojima Ranking. Top rated games from the cult creator

Hideo Kojima probably needs no introduction, What? I am convinced that if you did not enter this text by accident, clicking on it, because it popped up somewhere on Facebook, you surely know exactly who we are talking about. He is one of those developers in the video game industry who can sell games with his name. Undoubtedly, it can be classified as one of the most popular.

And it didn’t come out of nowhere. It owes its fame, of course, to several factorsbut the main and most important will be the quality of the games it delivers. They all have some distinctive elements and each is touched by a bit of “Kojimian magic”, thanks to which he translates some of his twisted character into items that are later issued to players. An extraordinary guy with a huge amount of creativity.

A lot of games signed with his name have appeared in recent years and it is worth checking how they were widely adopted. It will not be my private rankingand the perspective of how his productions were received by all players and critics. For many people it may be a journey back in time, and for others it is a small drawback of which titles need to be reached and which can be folded. No dragging – let’s get started!

This project debuted in 1988 and I think that’s enough to say that probably few people have heard of it, and even fewer have played it. The project is kept in the atmosphere of cyberpunk and was fully created (in terms of direction and script) by the protagonist of this text. However, it is the history, not the gameplay, that is the main element here.

I read somewhere that this game is “Ghost in the Shell” in the form of a video game. And I think there is something to it. Although I only got to know the project by watching the material from the game on YouTube (after all, as you can guess, the game is not readily available), I got involved in it. Hideo wanted to contribute to the adventure game genre in the point & click style and you can say that he has succeeded – the ratings were quite decent.

Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand

Little-known title, but it would be a pity to forget about him! The production debuted on GBA in 2003 and is something completely different from the rest of Kojima’s works. The whole thing is a mixture of several genres and has been wrapped in an anime-like visual layer. A very interesting combination focused on exploring dungeons and avoiding detection by enemies. It’s definitely worth checking out if you get the chance.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

MGS again – this time the edition was released with PlayStation Portable in mind and continuing the events of the third installment, which debuted in 2010. To this day, I have the impression that Hideo Kojima and his team did a real miracle here. How brilliantly this project fared on portable devices from Sony can be considered in the spheres of magic. Actually, everything is right here, and the ratings are not surprising.

Death Stranding

The newest game on the list, but they must not be missing! For some, a breakthrough title and a position that needs to be checked – for others, at most a postman simulator. Reviews and opinions were extremely different, but with an emphasis on the more positive. Hideo Kojima got his way again and delivered a product that not only bursts our hearts, but also our gray cells.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

And back to the MGS series! This time the “four”, in which Hideo Kojima and his team threw us into the 1980s. Konami delivered a really great position and showed here what they can do when they get their hands on the technology from PlayStation 3. We returned to the role of Snake and for many it was the best thing we could ever get. Great story, wonderfully written characters and action that was fully engaging.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

But it was a strong part! For a large group of fans, she is the best one, and in fact I would not like to argue for a long time – the differences in these games, when it comes to ratings, they are even individual. In this part, we moved to 1964 and in Big Boss’s shoes we had to face a really difficult challenge … Because this is probably how you should consider the interception of weapons that allowed to manipulate nuclear charges!

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

The latest full-fledged installment of the MGS series, i.e. the game from 2015, also enjoyed a very good reception. The reviewers praised the stealth mechanics, the great open world and – which is already standard – phenomenal plot threads. Kojima delivered a truly phenomenal game here, which despite over 6 years on the back of the neck, still looks extremely good.

Metal Gear Solid

For many, this was the scene first introduction to the seriesthat made Hideo Kojima so loud today. The game was initially released on the first PlayStation and quickly won the love of many people, fanatically combining elements of action and stealth. It was the creator’s debut approach to 3D technology and it must be admitted that he did better than just good.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty

The most received game of all that Hideo Kojima has created in his career was the 2001 “Two”. Interestingly, the production itself is the fourth installment in the series – however, it is a direct continuation of the adventureI mentioned one item above. Last year, the 20th anniversary was celebrated and on this occasion many fans returned to the known world. The enthusiasms did not diminish.
