UEFA Super Cup final brings together Champions League winners Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, who lifted the Europa League
O Real Madrid officially debuts in the 2022/23 season this Wednesday (10) – and already in contention for a title. Vinicius Jr’s team face the Eintracht Frankfurtat 16:00 (Brasília time), in Helsinki, in the decision of the Uefa Super Cupa tournament that brings together the champions of Champions League and gives Europa League in the previous season.
Winning the Super Cup, of course, doesn’t make for a traffic-stopping celebration regardless of who wins it, but it could be a good sign for the coming months and offer Real a chance at something unique in European football history: win the six possible tournaments within the same season.
But what about the barcelona of 2008/09 and the Bayern Munchen in 2019/20? The two historic teams won all the trophies, it’s true, but not in the same season.

In the 2019/20 season, the Bavarians won the Bundesligaa german cup and also the Champions to, then, also snap up the cups of the UEFA Super Cup, German Super Cup and World Cup. These last three were part of the 2020/21 season.
Bayern’s situation is even more peculiar, because his magical year was marked by the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world. The World Cup, for example, was only played in February 2021, and not at the end of 2020 as would happen again.
That’s exactly what should happen with the same tournament now, since the Club World Cup will likely be in early 2023. Yet within the same season.
Real, then, will take the first step this Wednesday to do something they’ve never done, which is to win the six current titles (LaLiga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup and Club World Cup). That way, until the Supercup becomes important…
