Insiders revealed the Don’t Say Love singer has been invited to sing during the upcoming series which begins on Saturday night.

A source said: “Leigh-Anne has been approached about singing on Strictly and it would be a massive deal for her.

“The show gets millions of viewers and it would give her a chance to showcase her music to an audience who might not be familiar with her work.

“Leigh-Anne’s second single My Love with Ayra Starr is such a catchy tune and the plan would be to have her on performing while the professionals perform around her.

“It would be Leigh-Anne’s first big TV performance and naturally Strictly bosses are desperate to sign her up because she’d bring younger fans to the show.

“Leigh-Anne has a very hectic diary but given she’s in the UK over the next few weeks they think the dates could line up.”

After her former bandmate Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne was the second out of the blocks from Little Mix as she launched her solo career with her debut single Don’t Say Love.

It got a huge reception from Leigh-Anne’s fans but failed to make a major impact on the charts and peaked at No11

Her new track My Love is an afro-beats inspired banger and Leigh-Anne said the euphoric tune was the song she was most excited about.

She said: “I remember messaging my A&R being like, ‘We’re doing something insane in the studio right now, it’s folky with Afrobeats. I don’t know what’s going on but it’s so good!’

“It just sounded so different – it was the first time I got this feeling that something really incredible was happening. Like, something clicked: ‘This is Leigh-Anne.’”
