ROME – (Im) possible Ecologies is the exhibition born from an idea of Andris BrinkmanisCourse Leader Triennium in Painting and Visual Arts of NABA New Academy of Fine Artsand of Marco ScotiniNABA Visual Arts Department Head, coordinated by Vasco Forconi and hosted by 20 to 26 June at the Botanical Garden of Rome Polo Museale Sapienza (Largo Cristina of Sweden, 23 A – 24).

On display the works of the students of the BA in Painting and Visual Arts of the Milan and Rome offices he was born in MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies in Milan, whose students also took care of curating the exhibition.

(Im) possible Ecologies is part of a line of research that for years has considered the relationship between ecologies, artistic practices and curatorial studies a central element in the pedagogical processes developed by the NABA Department of Visual Arts.

Marco Scotini, NABA Visual Arts Department Headso describes the specificity of artistic training in NABA: “I believe that it is no longer a question of thinking about art education in terms of a separate discipline, for experts and professionals. Can we imagine the aesthetic function within its own enclosure? Today the challenge is to think of art as something at the center of the processes of formation and subjectivation in a broad sense, which finds its own realization procedure in the aesthetic model. Because of this in our school we routinely practice everything that may appear extra-disciplinary: economics, gender, urban, ecology. Basically, art becomes inseparable from the socialization processes of the present and from the collective recomposition phenomena of the future“.

Students of the MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies of NABA, curators of the exhibition:
Shamooda Amrelia, Elisabetta Calligaro, Antonela Solenicki, Zixin Han, Harshitha Jois, Elena Marcon, Nicolò Martinelli, Rosaria Murolo, Alberto Navilli, Barbara Niniano, Martina Pumpel, Alessia Riva, Federica Rizzo.
