Inter stumble, losing Italy’s leadership to Milan.Juventus wins the Classic – International

Inter Milan drew 2-2 at home with Bologna on Saturday (7th), losing the lead to arch-rivals Milan in Round 8 of the Italian Championship, but Juventus also won 2-0 against Turin.

Everything started well for Inter, who took a 2-0 lead in the first minutes with goals from Francesco Acerbi (11′) and Lautaro Marnes (13′).

However, the Nerazzurri’s pace slowed and Bologna converted a penalty shortly afterward through Riccardo Orsolini (19′).

Coach Simone Inzaghi’s side were nervous, but they conceded a draw in the second half thanks to Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee’s long-range shot (59th minute).

“I am as upset as the players are in the locker room,” Inzaghi declared on the DAZN platform. “This is the second time, after the game against Sassuolo (losing 2-1), that we were unable to win due to mistakes or lack of attention despite leading the score.”

In the final stages, Brazilian Carlos Augusto, called up by coach Fernando Diniz to the Selecao, had a one-on-one chance to give Inter victory, but his shot went over the Bologna goalkeeper (84th minute).

The draw on Saturday, 10 days after their only defeat of the season, also at home at the San Siro, saw Inter Milan beat Genoa 1-0 away in their final game of the season and end the round in second place.

The Rossoneri team almost missed a chance as American Christian Pulisic sent the ball into the goal and the winning goal came with three minutes left in regulation time, despite a suspenseful VAR review (87 minutes).

Adding to the drama, Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off for a mistake in the final stages of the game (90 minutes, 8 seconds) when he brought down an opponent, allowing French player Olivier Giroud to stop in the goal. He was forced to improvise.

Maignan took the free kick and the ball exploded over the crossbar, much to the relief of Milan fans. Genoa’s goalkeeper, who was advancing in search of an equalizer, also committed a foul and was sent off (90’+13).

Still, the home side had one last chance, but Giroud’s good release saved the day, ensuring Milan’s victory and leadership.

Meanwhile, Juventus won the Turin Classic and moved closer to the top spot.

Without Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic, who have scored eight goals this season, Juve struggled against Torino’s strong marking.

The introduction of Arkadiusz Milik after the break gave the Bianconeri a new look and they took the lead through Federico Gatti (47′).

And 15 minutes later, Milik scored his second goal with a header (62′).

The victory moves Juventus into third place with 17 points ahead of Sunday’s match between Napoli and Fiorentina.
