New Delhi, Online Desk, IPL 2022 MI vs KKR Live: The 14th match of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League is being played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at MCA Stadium, Pune. Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Suryakumar Yadav scored a brilliant half-century and Mumbai scored 161 runs for 4 wickets. Till the time of writing the news, Kolkata had scored 89 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 12 overs.
Early blow to Kolkata
Ajinkya Rahane and Venkesh Iyer came to open the innings for Kolkata, chasing the target of 162 runs from Mumbai. Tymal Mills got Rahane caught by Daniel Sams on the score of 7 runs. Skipper Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket after scoring 10 runs. Tilak Verma caught his catch off Sams’ ball. When Nitish Rana returned after scoring just 8 runs, then right after the team’s big hope Andre Russell was also out on the score by 11 runs.
Mumbai’s batting, Suryakumar’s fifty
After losing the toss, Mumbai team came out to bat against Kolkata. The team has got the first setback in the form of captain Rohit Sharma. Experienced bowler Umesh Yadav, running in top form, got him caught for 3 runs at the hands of Billings. Dewald Brevis returned after scoring 29 runs in the debut match, stumped by Varun Chakravarthy. Pat Cummins sent back Ishan Kishan, who was playing on 14, caught by captain Shreyas.
Suryakumar started the 15th season of IPL with a bang. Coming back after injury, handled Mumbai with a brilliant fifty in the very first match. Completed half-century off 34 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Kolkata team won the toss in this match and decided to bowl. There have been two changes in Kolkata’s team. Pat Cummins has been included in Tim Southee while Rasik Salam has been included in place of Shivam Mavi. Dewald Brevis is about to debut for Mumbai and Suryakumar Yadav has returned. Dewald has been included in place of Tim David and Suryakumar has been included in place of Anmolpreet Singh.
While Mumbai are looking for their first win this season, Kolkata team has reached here after defeating Punjab Kings and will try to maintain the winning streak. Pat Cummins in Kolkata’s team and Suryakumar Yadav’s return in Mumbai makes both the teams stronger than before.

If we look at the performance of both the teams in this season, Mumbai has lost both the matches played so far while Kolkata team has played 3 matches and has won two matches and lost one. Mumbai had to face defeat against Delhi in the first match and against Rajasthan in the second match. On the other hand, Kolkata started this season by defeating defending champion Chennai. In the second match, he had to face defeat against RCB. In the third match, they defeated Punjab by 6 wickets.
