In such a situation, Pant chose to bowl first in this match as well. Although this wicket of Pune was different from the wickets of Mumbai and dew was not a big factor here. In such a situation, Gujarat Titans, who bowled later, registered victory. On this, when Pant was asked whether he would like to bowl first here next time? So to this he replied, ‘It will depend on the weather. At the moment we are not thinking about it. Will see when we come to Pune again.
Delhi got the target of 172 runs
In this match, Gujarat, batting first, scored 171 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, thanks to a scintillating 84 runs by Shubman Gill. In response, Delhi’s team was in a strong position by making 118 runs at one time losing 4 wickets with the help of the innings of Rishabh Pant (43). But here Pant’s wicket fell and then one after the other the batsmen started returning to the pavilion. Delhi team could score only 157 runs till the allotted 20 overs and Gujarat Titans won the match by 14 runs. New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’.
