Directed by Karyn Kusama, Jennifer’s Body didn’t make a big impact at the box office when it debuted in 2009, but it has gained more and more audiences over the following years. The star Amanda Seyfried knew how effective the film was from the first time she read the script and recently returned to talk about the project.
“Honestly, in terms of box office success, we haven’t had that,” shared Seyfried with Variety. “For me, it was about the experience of making it and being thrilled at the release, because it always felt like it meant something. It had a cult following, and for good reason. Karyn Kusama is an amazing director. badass about best friends that was hilarious and dark and smart. It was unique! Sorry, but I’ve never read another script or seen another movie that looked like Jennifer’s Body. It was art. I’m really proud of the work I did and there we had fun”.
He added: “It’s so nice to be celebrated for that. Even if it’s been years, it doesn’t matter. I think it was a great movie, so it’s really nice that people are still talking about it. To be a part of all that’s left is amazing. When I was working with Paul Schrader [in First Reformed]I thought, ‘This is going to be a film lesson. People are going to study this film for years and years.’ I knew that before I even shot it.”
Last year, Jennifer’s Body star Megan Fox expressed her interest in seeing a TV series sequel to the movie, but so far, she doesn’t. no project seems to have been put in the pipeline. Finally, we leave you with our review of Jennifer’s Body.
