James Corden reveals that he only washes his hair “every 2 months” and takes a 3-minute shower

“Los Angeles residents are now being asked to help with the local water shortage by reducing shower time by four minutes,” the 43-year-old night host shared Thursday, May 19 on the Late Late Show with James Corden. “Don’t be a problem: I know that every time I’m in the shower, I stop it by the minute,” he joked, adding incredulously, “Cut it by four – how much time do people spend in the shower?”

For his part, the Into the Woods star revealed that he was “in and out for three or four” minutes. The Broadway ex may have his shower routine reduced to a science, but he’s also cutting some corners.

“I don’t wash my hair,” Corden explained, noting that she “uses soap” to wash herself. He added: “I wash my hair about every two months. It’s a true story ”.

Although the Cats actor has had a hard time figuring out how someone can take a 10-20 minute shower, he’s hardly the only Hollywood star who likes to keep his shower routine as short as possible.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher kicked off the national shower debate in July 2021 when they appeared on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, where the three actors discussed their bathroom habits.

“I wash my armpits and groin every day, and nothing else ever,” explained the 44-year-old alum Punk’d. The 38-year-old Black Swan star added: “I don’t wash my body with soap every day. But I wash dimples and boobs and holes and soles of my feet.

Shepard, 47, and wife Kristen Bell also made headlines for their comments about bathing their two daughters, also admitting that occasionally “five or six days” went by without bathing their children.

“Once you catch a smell, it’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” joked the 41-year-old Frozen actress on The View in August 2021. “There’s a red flag, because honestly it’s just bacteria. And once you have the bacteria, you have to say, ‘Go to the bath or shower’ ”.

That same month, Jake Gyllenhaal gave his two cents on the subject in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“I increasingly find bathing less necessary at times,” the 41-year-old Brokeback Mountain star joked at the time, though not everyone knew he was joking. She later made it clear to BuzzFeed that her comments were “sarcastic and ironic” and not at all meant to be taken seriously.

For their part, Kutcher, Kunis, Shepard, and Bell all teased their flooding comments, which they acknowledge sent a worldwide discussion. The pupils of That ’70s Show even created an Instagram sketch in which the Two and a Half Men alum joked that the Bad Moms star is now bathing their children (daughter Wyatt, 7, and son Dimitri, 5) too frequently, to the point where he is hitting their “natural oils,” he joked.
