Finally the news that many fans of The White Lotus they were waiting: Jennifer Coolidgeone of the revelation actresses of the first season, will once again play the explosive socialite Tanya McQuoid in second season of the series, shot in Sicily. We already knew of her involvement in the new episodes but we weren’t sure she would reprise the role she was highly regarded for last year. Now TVLine and other American newspapers have confirmed this.
The White Lotus 2: The plot and characters
The first season of The White Lotuscreated by Mike White, followed a group of guests and employees of a luxury resort in Hawaii, exploring their family and secret problems over the span of a week. The second, entitled The White Lotus: Sicily, will focus on a different group of guests and the employees of another White Lotus facility, this time in Sicily. The new episodes were shot in recent months in a luxurious hotel of the prestigious Four Seasons chain, the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in Taormina, and in the surroundings of Taormina And Catania.
The cast and the Italian talents involved
From previous news we know that the star de The Sopranos Michael Imperioli will play Dominic Di Grasso, a guest on vacation with his newly graduated son and elderly father, played respectively by Adam DiMarco (The Order) And F. Murray Abraham (Homeland). Tom Hollander (The Night Manager) will be Quentin, an English expat on vacation with his friends and nephew. Portia, the role played by Haley Lu Richardson (Recovery Road), is a young woman on vacation with her boss. Theo James (Sanditon) And Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type) will play the couple Cameron and Daphne Babcock, on vacation with the couple formed by Harper and Ethan Spiller, played instead by Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) And Will Sharpe (Casualty). Tanya McQuoid is back
Even before the renewal for a second season, the creator Mike White had expressed the desire to bring back in the new episodes some of the characters known in the first season, in order to create a sort of universe of The White Lotus where there are various hotels around the world. However, she remarked, “I don’t think you can have all Season 1 guests on the same vacation again in a credible way.” Jennifer Coolidge played alcoholic heiress Tanya McQuoid, who arrived at the Hawaiian resort to scatter the ashes of her mother in the ocean, and her character was one of her most cherished. In the finale of the first season she had unexpectedly found her love and now we will see her again in Sicily interacting with new guests. “I think people are going to like Season 2, I say that based on the scenes I’ve seen. I think people are going to be really hooked on the show,” Coolidge told TVLine in a recent interview. We – as big fans of The White Lotus and of Jennifer Coolidge – we can only be happy to find Tanya McQuoid (strictly pronounced Mc-Kwad!) in the second season of the HBO dramedy.
