Jennifer Lawrence revealed that he lost control of the situation at the beginning of his career after the great success of the first film Hunger Games.
The actress was interviewed during one Screen Talk to the London Film Festivalwhere she said she finally felt able to take back the reins of her life only after winning an Oscar at such a young age: “I think I’ve lost the sense of control,” she told the presenter Francine Stock. «Between the release of Hunger Games and the Oscar win, I became such a commodity that it felt like every decision was a group decision. When I think about it now, I can’t think about those years,” explained the actress.
Lawrence made his feature film debut in the record-breaking saga based on the young adult novels by Hunger Gamesbefore acting in the same year in Bright side from David O. Russell alongside Bradley Cooper. That role would win her her first Oscar in 2013. And even today, ten years later, she confessed she can’t believe it ever happened: “I keep thinking: When will it happen again?” she said .
The Oscar-winning actress then added that she finally feels able to regain possession of herself and her career on her own terms: “For the first time in a long time, I feel at ease,” she said. Lawrence has begun work on her latest film, Causeways, in 2019, before it was suddenly suspended due to the pandemic. During this time off work, she got married to Cooke Maroney and gave birth to her first child. The actress said that in this film she almost seems to see her “diary pages” reproduced on the screen.
In a cover interview with Vogue in October, Lawrence also said that this was a “very personal” project for her, “the most difficult shoot of my life”, explaining: “I get emotional every time I watch the film. Not just for what I said about marriage and stuff.’ She added: “I’ve had a recurring theme in all my films since I was 18. I’m curious to know if, now that I’m older and have a baby, I’ll finally be able to abandon him.
