Jennifer Lopez is so natural in the things she does that many who were present at one of her last performances didn’t notice that she introduced her daughter, Emme, using neutral pronouns, indicating that the 14-year-old is a non-binary person. In a video that went viral on TikTok, many noticed the way he called Emme to the stage to sing with her, something done several times by J-Lo, who loves, like the good mother owl that she is, to show the talents of her calf.

The video, which went viral over the weekend, was made on the 16th, when J-Lo performed at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala. The 52-year-old pop star called Emme onstage for a duet using a gender-neutral pronoun several times. She said: “The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they don’t. So this is a very special occasion. Ili is very, very busy, reserved. and honey. Ili costs me when ili leaves. But ili is worth every penny because ili is my favorite duet partner.”

Jennifer and Emme then toasted those in attendance with a cover of Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” Emme performed wearing a hot pink outfit that included a pink shirt, shorts and matching socks, while Jennifer looked glamorous in a green feather coat. Both mother and son carried rainbow-colored microphones during the performance. Emme, 14, has twin Max David as her brother, both children of Jennifer Lopez with ex-husband Marc Anthony, to whom she was married for ten years before their split in 2014.
With the video making the rounds on the internet, J-Lo was praised by fans, who were moved by the mother’s care for her and her daughter. “Awww JLo respecting pronouns,” wrote one fan. A second said: “The best parents love and support their children – go JLO and Emme!”. Emme previously performed with J-Lo on the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, which appears in Lopez’s new documentary ‘Halftime’.
