Joanna Kulig in a Hollywood movie. He will play with Anne Hathaway

Joanna Kulig’s foreign career gained momentum after the great success of Paweł Pawlikowski’s “Cold War”, which, after triumph at the Cannes festival (award for the best director), fought for three Oscars in 2019. Although the film did not manage to repeat the success of “Ida”, the production enjoyed great recognition in various latitudes.

Let us recall that Kulig previously made a series for Netflix by Oscar winner Damien Chazelle. “The Eddy” premiered at the Berlinale 2020 festival.

She could also be seen in the Amazon series “Hanna”, based on the movie directed by Joe Wright from 2011. Esme Creed-Miles plays the title role, and actors known from “The Killing” also reunited on the set of the series: Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman.

Deadline.com wrote about the new film. “She Came to Me” is a romantic comedy, for which the director of “Plan Maggie” Rebecca Miller (writer and director) is responsible.

The author of the music will be one of the most outstanding film composers – two-time Oscar winner Alexandre Desplat (“The Shape of Water”, “Grand Budapest Hotel”).

In “She Came to Me” will play, among others: Anne Hathaway (“The Devil Wears Prada”, “Rachel Gets Married”, “Les Miserables”), Tahar Rahim (“Moorish”), Matthew Broderick (“A Free Day Ferris Bueller “) and Marisa Tomei (” My Cousin Vinny “).

The picture will tell about the events taking place over the course of several years. The protagonists include: a couple of teenagers who want to prove the strength of their love to their parents, a successful woman who only lacks love in life, or a composer suffering from a creative impotence.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in New York City in fall 2021. The project of the film will be presented at the fair taking place at the festival in Cannes.

The 74th Cannes festival will be held from July 6-17. The festival will open with the film “Annette”, the first English-language film by Leos Carax. The French director will return to Cannes nine years after he presented the surreal drama “Holy Motors” in the main competition.
