Born on July 24, 1933 in Chania, Greece, John Aniston, Yannis Anastassakis by his birth name, is a Greek-American actor. He is best known for playing the role of Victor Kiriakis in the television soap opera Days and lives from 1985 to 2022. Another component of his fame: he is the father of actress Jennifer Aniston. John only spent the first two years of his life in Greece, with his parents Stella Joanne and Antonios Anastassakis, before moving to the United States. His parents open a restaurant in Pennsylvania, where the young man studies theater.
John Aniston began his film career in 1962, obtaining a small role in the series 87th Precinct. In 1970, he joined the soap opera Days of our lives in the role of Eric Richards, then he plays Eddie Aleata in Love of life five years later. We then find him in the skin of Martin Tourneur, lover of Marie Stuart in Search of tomorrow, from 1980 to 1984. He then returned to the series Days of our lives in 1985, this time in the role of Victor Kiriakis who consecrates him and who he holds until his death.
The actor has also made appearances in the series Gilmore Girls, Star Trek, Mad Men, as well as in American dreams.
On the private side, John Aniston married Nancy Dow in 1968. A year later, they gave birth to Jennifer Aniston. He left the family home in 1979 and divorced his wife in stride. Actor remarries Sherry Rooney, whom he met on the set of Love of life and has a son with her named Alexander.
John Aniston died on November 11, 2022 at the age of 89.
