Kanye West unfollows Nicki Minaj on social media after being called a clown by the rapper

Kanye West seems to have responded to Nicki Minaj’s recent diss by unfollowing the artist on social media.

Kanye West unfollowed the rapper Nicki Minaj on Instagram after she insulted him while performing at the Essence Festival earlier this month. While on stage, the DJ from Minaj started playing “Monster” music by Kanye with Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z, but the artist interrupted him and moved on to another song with a malicious comment. “Another monster!” Nicki said. “Another monster! We don’t close with clowns.”

It is unclear what exactly happened between the artists, but Kanye West collaborated on “Hot Shit” by Cardi B with Lil Durk just before Minaj’s comments at the Essence Festival. The rest of Nicki’s performance included guest appearances from birdman and Lil Wayne to sing “#1 Stunna”, “Seeing Green”, “High School”, “Truffle Butter” and “A Milli”.

Minaj also performed “Do We Have A Problem”, “We Go Up”, “Did It On ’em”, “Beez in the Trap” and more, ending the first of a series of big shows he’s played in the last few days. “Monster” was released in 2010 and was included in the track list of West’s fifth studio album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. In addition to Nicki Minajthe track has Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Bon Iver. apart from Nicki of the song is widely considered one of the best guest verses of his career.

In related news, Kanye West registered the trademark “YZYSPLY” and indicates that it should open retail stores. The artist previously talked about the prospect of bringing his clothing company to physical locations, telling Vanity Fair in 2015 that it’s his “dream”. “I’ve already embraced the moment of finally having my own store, which has always been a dream of mine,” he told the agency at the time. “So even though we do really amazing online sales, my dream is to have my own store. And have a lot of trades out of it.”
