Karl-Heinz Rummenigge did not spare praise for Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez in an interview with “Tuttosport”. As he revealed, he wanted to bring the former to Bayern years ago, and he would use the latter now.
Rummenigge has shaped Bayern Munich’s transfer policy over the past decades. During this time, he managed to acquire many excellent players. He also has setbacks on his account.
In an interview with “Tuttosport” he admitted that he targeted Paulo Dybala years ago. The Argentinian then defended the colors of Palermo. The player eventually chose a different direction for the transfer.
– Dybala is an amazing talent. We watched him when he was in Palermo, before he even moved to Juventus. We wanted him, but we failed – confessed the German.
Rummenigge also appreciates Lautaro Martinez. It was him that he pointed out when asked which player he would bring to Die Roten at the moment.
– He is really good. But now I’m not the boss anymore. Besides, in my heart part of the place is taken by Inter, so I tried not to buy players from this club – finished.
