She referred to the murder of Sarah Everard, who went missing on March 3, returning from her boyfriend in the evening. The actress realized that she also uses them.
Keira Knightley on sexual harassment
Keira Knightley in an interview for “Harper’s Bazaar” referred to the situation in March when Sarah Everard was murdered near London. The actress admitted that she realized then that the problem was bigger than she thought. She said all the women she knew were victims of sexual harassment.
I literally don’t know anyone who hasn’t been molested in some way.
Sarah Everard’s tragedy prompted other women to speak up. Their words show that they are very often afraid for their safety. Keira realized that she was acting just like them.
It was then that women started listing out all the precautions they take when they come home to make sure they were safe and I figured I was doing each one and I didn’t even think about it.
The actress also said she appreciates Baroness Jenny Jones, a British politician and member of the Green Party of England and Wales. Jones proposed a curfew for men.
The men were outraged and you think – but for women there is a curfew and it has always been.
Back in January, Keira said she would no longer be starring in sex scenes that will be directed by men. She cited the “male point of view” as the reason.
