Has Bad Bunny secretly been wearing a wig all these months? That’s the word on the street since the rapper unveiled a major transformation after chopping off his famous hair.
The Un Verano Sin Ti rapper, who is currently dating model Kendall Jenner, unveiled his brand new look in a teaser video for his upcoming album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Manana, which is out on Friday (October 13).
In the clip, Bad Bunny, 29, is seen climbing out of a car and strolling into a restaurant donning a black suit. He’s then greeted by an older man who says: ‘Don Benito. So nice to see you. Welcome to Carbone.’
The camera then pans up to reveal the smiling artist who is now sporting a freshly shaved buzzcut.
It’s a big change for Bad Bunny – and his fans – as he famously styled his hair in either braids or his natural curls.
However, eagle-eyed fans are convinced the rapper chose not to grow out his buzzcut after filming the video teaser but didn’t want to give away his surprise look before the release, as he’s been seen with his curly hair in recent months.
Fans believe Bad Bunny has been wearing a wig attached to a baseball cap to protect his transformation after a video surfaced of a similar fashion piece.
It’s also said that the buzzcut links back to the rapper’s early career when he sported a similar hairdo.
A fan explained: ‘For those who need context: him having a buzz cut is a reference to when he first started his career. During this time he was mainly a trap artist so many associated the cut with that era. So with his video announcement where he’s bald he’s hinting at a trap album.’
‘He cut his hair 2016 bad bunny is back,’ someone cheered.
One person who might have approved Bad Bunny’s shaved head is his reported girlfriend Kendall, who he is believed to have begun dating earlier this year.
Rumors were sparked in April when Kendall, 27, was spotted at his Coachella set.
However, the Puerto Rican star – real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – has said he won’t be commenting at all because he keeps his personal life private.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, he said: ‘I’m not really interested in clarifying anything because I have no commitment to clarifying anything to anyone.
‘I am clear and my friend Jomar is clear and my mother is clear. They are the only ones to whom I have to clarify anything.’
