This Tuesday, the 21st, Kim Kardashian spoke about the dress Marilyn Monroewhich she used in MET Gala 2022. The businesswoman gave an interview to the program today and denied having damaged the piece.
“We keep reading things like ‘The dress is ruined’… So isn’t this all true?” asked Hoda Kotb, the show’s host. “No. Ripley’s [e eu] we worked so well together, there were handlers with gloves who put it on me,” Kim Kardashian explained.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is the owner of the piece, which is worth US$ 4.8 million – about R$ 25 million –, since 2016. Last Thursday, the 16th, the company came out in defense of the model and claimed that no damage had been done to the dress.
“It was quite a process. I showed up on the red carpet in a robe and slippers, put the dress on at the beginning of the carpet and went upstairs. I probably wore it for 3 or 4 minutes,” Kim added.
The piece that Kardashian wore to the Met Gala was the same one that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962, on her 45th birthday. John F. Kennedy: “I respect her [Marilyn Monroe], I understand how much this dress means to American history. and with the theme [do MET Gala] that being, I thought, ‘What’s more American than Marilyn Monroe singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the President of the United States?’
The model also spoke about losing weight for the event and explained that it was because she really wanted to wear the dress. “I looked at it [o Met Gala] like a paper. And I really wanted to wear that dress. It was really important to me,” she said. Kim Kardashian had to lose 7 pounds in three weeks to use it.
“It actually taught me a lot about my lifestyle and my health. And since then, I’ve continued to eat very healthy. I’m 20 pounds lighter now. I’m not trying to lose more weight, but I have more energy than ever. I cut out a lot of sugar and a lot of the junk I was eating… I completely changed my lifestyle.”
