Hear hear, siori and siore: Zac Efron has decided to “swap the typical for something magical”, and go on an adventure for the Belize jungle for the movie King of the Jungle.
The Greatest Showman and Ted Bundy – Criminal Charm will be part of the cast of the comedy directed by Crazy, Stupid, Love and Whiskey directors Tango Foxtrot, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.
Deadline communicates it exclusively, which also reports the role that Efron will play in the film: “Wired journalist Ari Furman, who accepts what he believes will be the ‘usual interview’ with a technology magnate, McAfee. But once he arrives in Belize, he will be involved in the growing paranoia of McAfee, in an increasingly elusive reality, and even in a murder”.
We recall in fact that King of the Jungle is based on an article by Joshua Davis published in the magazine of Condé Nast, Wired, which tells “the story of McAfee, the man who conceived the famous computer antivirus, who cashed his fortune , abandoned civilization, then moved to the jungle of Belize, where his life became a mix of weapons, sex, and madness “ .
Previously, stars like Johnny Depp, Michael Keaton, and Seth Rogen have been linked to King of the Jungle, but with the advance of the project, it was decided otherwise. The role of Rogen is therefore now passed to Efron, while the new McAfee, which was previously to be played by Keaton, is still in the casting phase. Filming is scheduled to start in early 2020.
