Hooda’s cricket career has been full of ups and downs. Thinking of quitting cricket till a few years ago, Deepak’s bat is spewing runs. He scored his second consecutive fifty this season. The right-handed batsman, who was sold in the auction for Rs 5.75 crore, scored 55 runs in 41 balls in the first match against Gujarat Titans, then today he scored 51 runs in 33 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, in the second match against Chennai Super Kings, he was able to score only 13 runs in 8 balls.
Rahul’s double happiness
If a batsman is consistently performing well at number five, then it is good news for a captain, but the good news doubles when the captain also contributes equally with the bat. Lucknow Super Giants captain Rahul scored 68 runs (six fours, one six in 50 balls). He scored 40 runs in the last match against Chennai Super Kings. Today he shared a 62-ball 87 for the fourth wicket with Deepak Hooda.
20 runs in an over from Umran
Lucknow needed a partnership after losing three big wickets for just 27 runs in five overs. KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda first took the innings and then attacked Umran Malik in the 10th over. Four out of six balls were sent outside the boundary. On the first ball of this big over of 20 runs, Deepak Hooda hit a four and a six on the last while Rahul played the third and fourth balls for fours.
