Legia Warsaw: Mahir Emreli has reached an agreement with the new club

Mahir Emreli has made a contract with İstanbul Başakşehir. Now the club from Turkey intends to contact Legia Warsaw in order to determine the amount of the compensation fee for the striker – SportFM.az informed.

The representative of Azerbaijan refused to return to the “Military” team and clearly expressed his position about the will to prematurely end cooperation with the current Polish champion. The behavior of the center forward was caused by the events after losing the league match with Wisła Płock (0: 1). Then the Legia Warszawa coach headed to the training center was attacked by hooligans who decided to express their disappointment with the team’s attitude and attacked several players, including Mahir Emreli.

The 24-year-old player immediately after this unpleasant event began to take steps to leave the ranks of the team from Łazienkowska, despite the fact that in a private conversation with coach Aleksandar Vukovic and personally in the Polish media, he stated that he intends to normally start preparations in the Polish club for the start of the spring round.

The reality, however, turned out to be completely different, because Azer did not go with the “Military” to the camp in Dubai and aims to find a new employer as soon as possible.

SportFM.az journalists believe that the center forward has achieved his goal in this respect and has reached an agreement with the İstanbul Başakşehir authorities,

The said source adds that the Turkish team also undertook to start talks with Legia Warszawa to determine the amount of compensation for Emreli’s premature departure from the team.

The 24-year-old scored eleven goals and recorded two assists in 33 matches played for the team from Łazienkowska.

İstanbul Başakşehir is currently in third place in the Polish Premier League and is 15 points behind the leading Trabzonspor
