Lily James will play the main character in the adaptation of the popular novel by Nancy Mitford entitled “The pursuit of love”. The author of the script and the director of the film was Emily Mortimer.
“Chase for Love” gives a colorful portrait of a landed gentry family, ironic and nostalgic at the same time, which was written on the basis of the author’s recollections from the interwar period, World War II and the times immediately after it. Fanny’s narrator spends her vacation in Alconleigh, her uncle’s mansion, with her numerous great-uncles. She is friends with her peer Linda, and it is Linda, beautiful, sensitive and unpredictable, who is the actual heroine of the novel. Life in the manor is close to nature, hunting is the main event. The master of the house, the brilliantly painted uncle Matthew maintains a tough regime, but the children have their own secrets, their hiding place and secret meetings, and the teenage Fanny and Linda dream of love, dreaming up all sorts of fantasies about it.
