Argentina’s Lionel Messi scored another two goals with Inter Miami in a 3-1 win over Orlando.
The Argentine scored twice from close range, the first in the 7th minute on a serve from Robert Taylor. Chest control, volley sequences, seven times the Golden Ball thus gave an advantage to his men. But Orlando responded ten minutes later, when Florida goalkeeper Drake Callender (17th) kept Ivan Angulo’s strike at the entrance of the area as Cesar Araujo headed home.
Inter Miami went back in front thanks to a penalty from Josep Martinez (51st), before Messi (72nd) offered his second double. Jordi Alba, a former teammate of “Pulga” at FC Barcelona, also arrived in Florida this summer, making his debut with Miami, entering in the 64th. Inter Miami will take on FC Dallas in the Round of 16 on Sunday.
