The Lumen Festival of Vicenza, now in its tenth year of life, now warms up the engines for an unforgettable summer 2022 and does so by announcing artists, dates, locations and all the news of an edition that promises to be not to be missed, including the introduction of an afternoon program of conferences and workshops that will involve public figures and experts of absolute importance.
The festival returns from 23 to 26 June in the wonderful setting of Spark, the area for music, sports, food and entertainment on the shores of the beautiful Marola lake, a stone’s throw from the center of Vicenza. 5000 square meters with an equipped beach, bars, restaurants, beach volleyball and paddle courts, wakeboarding on the lake, gym and much more.
To kick off the dances on the evening of Thursday 23 June will be an old and lucky acquaintance of the festival, MYSS KETA. “Performer, rapper with a punk attitude, pop icon, definitive diva” as she likes to define herself, she returns to Vicenza to bring us all her irreverent energy and her irresistible stage presence, after having blown under the stage of the Lumen Festival in 2019 over 7000 people. In support, the Venetian electro-duo of Queen of Saba, emerging artists who are entering the scene with colorful impetuosity, intent on dismantling the dogmas of genre and wandering and exploring the infinite facets of art, music, being .
It then continues Friday 24 June with the rapper from Vicenza Nitro, who plays at home at the Lumen Festival and finally returns to perform in his city after 3 years of hiatus. With 14 platinum discs and 21 gold discs on the wall, he is one of the sacred monsters of Italian rap, idol of fans of the genre, more or less young they are. All awaiting his great return to the stage: an appointment to mark on the agenda. Opening the evening will be the explosive energy of LA SAD, a trio characterized by punk sounds and imagery in a modern key, which with over 14 million views of its first album has been consecrated as ambassadors of the new Italian emo. To crown the evening, the afterparty curated by Crookers, the very successful project carried out by DJ “Phra” Francesco Barbaglia, also famous in the rap scene for his numerous, important collaborations with Fabri Fibra, Marracash, Mahmood, Massimo Pericolo , Emis Killa and many others.
Saturday 25 June the rapper-songwriter will make a stop in Vicenza Bresh, fresh from the release of the second album Oro Blu, which is crunching numbers after numbers and made its debut in the first position in the FIMI ranking of best-selling albums in Italy. Bresh, originally from Genoa, stands out for his simple but never banal writing and a lively voice accompanied by soft melodies. After long years of apprenticeship in the Ligurian scene, he has finally made his way into the hearts of the general public, also thanks to the single Angelina Jolie, released in 2020 and now platinum. On the other hand, the Saturday night audience will be warmed by Chiamamifaro, an indie duo from Bergamo composed of Angelica Gori (vocals) and Alessandro Belotti (guitar) who enjoy the precious blessing and collaboration of the Nuclear Tactical Penguins. In order to never stop dancing, the afterparty of Bawrut, an Italian DJ famous all over the world and currently based in Madrid, takes care of it.
To end with a flourish, Sunday 26 June space for the young talent of Naska, punk rock in headphones and passionate about the American emo trap scene embodied by Lil Peep: all influences that find space in the new Rebel album (which is getting a great success) and that are reflected in his unique sound in Italy. In addition to a singer he is also a star of the web, well known especially to the youngest as one of the most important Twitch streamers in Italy, with a following of over 100 thousand people. Wednesday 23 June a debate on the thriving Vicenza music scene is scheduled, in search of the causes that have seen it always at the top of the charts for the past 30 years, with its protagonists (Nitro, Seby from Derozer and others to be announced). Thursday 24 June fashion and environmental sustainability protagonists, the present and the future of their relationship with the precious presence of Matteo Ward (Ceo WRÅD), Mariella Milani (fashion journalist), Andrea Rosso (MYAR) and Sara Sozzani Maino (Vogue Italia) . Friday 25 June space for a debate on the revolution brought by social media in the marketing of companies, with Romano Cappellari (Scientific Director of CUOA) and influencer to be announced. The afternoon of Saturday 26 June will instead be dedicated to the theme of gender equality and the new perspectives of feminism, with Carlotta Vagnoli (author, activist, sex columnist), Silvia Semenzin (researcher and activist) and the extraordinary participation of MySecretCase, the famous Italian brand of sex toys that has always been committed also on a cultural and rights level.
